BOOK REVIEW: Sell Or Be Sold by Grant Cardone

I’m going to start off by telling you what I thought of this book first so you don’t have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to find out if this book is worth picking up. You’re welcome, Stockholm…

  • “5 Stars”
  • “Pick it the PHYSICAL copy and on AUDIO”
  • “Read it multiple times”

And now for the full review….

Have you ever heard the phrase “Everybody sells”? That’s exactly what this book is about. Grant argues that absolutely EVERYBODY should always be selling, whether at work, at home, in school, as a sales rep, as an accountant, as a manager, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re at – you are always trying to sell somebody on something!

But what makes this book so damn valuable is that not only does GC make a great point about everyone selling, he teaches you how to sell. A lot of this material is almost word for word straight out of his paid sales course, and you can pick it up for less than $30. What’s better, this material is timeless.

Now I will tell you this, Grant’s style isn’t for everyone. His selling strategy can seem pretty pushy at times, and that will not resonate with everybody. But it’s not like he teaches you how to manipulate people here, his pushy tactics are used to help people make a decision. Which brings up a very important rule of closing the deal…people can sometimes be more afraid of simply making a decision than they are about spending money. So how do you help people make a decision that you both know is good for them?

ANSWER: You read this book. 🙂

Sell Or Be Sold is not only about selling techniques, GC also covers the attitude that you have to have to succeed in selling and in life. Personally, I think a great attitude and a genuine smile are the best selling tools in your toolbox! Even if you don’t connect with having to push a decision on someone, you can still achieve tremendous success but being electric! Who doesn’t want to be around a happy, positive person? Go ahead and think, I’ll wait…

I have also read sales books from Jeffrey Gitomer, Jeb Blount, Brian Tracy, etc., and they also contain some good material. But I have seen more success using Grant’s material and attitude than I have using anybody else’s, so I personally stick to following Uncle G. If you really want to go crazy, pick up some of Grant’s other books like The 10X Rule and If Your Not First you’re Last. I will be doing future reviews on all of Grant Cardone’s books, as I have read all of them multiple times, and I get better everytime I hear/read the message.

AUDIO Version: You definitely need to have both the physical copy and the audio book! However, Grant reads his own books and tends to stray off the book quite often, giving you way more material than the original book contains.

Hope you found this review of Sell Or Be Sold by Grant Cardone helpful!

Go Big,

Jake
