You Are What You…Learn?

We’ve all heard the saying “You are what you eat”, and if you haven’t you were probably born yesterday. This implies that your body turns into what it takes in. Put simply, your body thrives on healthy food and suffers on unhealthy food. But does this only apply to your physical body?

Me thinks not!

This law also applies, and more importantly, to your mind. What I’m saying is your mind is only as good as the information that it takes in. If you constantly take in positive information your mind thrives, but if you constantly take in negative or useless information then your mind suffers. Let’s break it down like this to separate the good from the bad information…

Good Information:

  • Positive
  • Helpful
  • New skills
  • Motivation
  • New beliefs

Bad Information:

  • Negative
  • Useless
  • Harmful
  • Criticism
  • Limited beliefs

I don’t have enough paper to break these all down further, but I think you get the point. Are you taking in data that will help you or hurt you? And by the way, staying neutral is hurting you. We all need constant good information so we can stay disciplined and become ultra successful! Letting in any of this bad information will only hold you back.

So what do you do?

It’s very simple, yet can be incredibly difficult – you have to get rid of all (or at least most) of the bad information in your life. This could be no more watching the news (negative), spending hours looking at memes and watching TV shows (useless), taking advice from family members that want to protect you (harmful), keeping people in your life that want to keep you down at their level (criticism), or being told that only a select few people are special and deserve the best this life has to offer (limited belief).

But you can’t just stop there, because now you all this free time. You then need to fill that free time with good information! And when I say fill that free time, I’m talking all of it. You need to become so consumed with good information that you start to not recognize yourself after a few weeks. This is a good thing, by the way. If you are changing by taking in all of this good information, that tells you what state of mind you were really in for the last several years!

Here are the ways I consume good information:

  • Reading physical books everyday (mainly in the bathroom)
  • Listening to a separate audio book everyday (driving and working out)
  • Watching motivational videos on YouTube (daily)
  • Listening to podcasts/MP3 training audio (daily)
  • Only following success and motivation social media accounts

You get it? If you can consume your entire reality with good information, you will slowly break down your old limited beliefs and bad habits and replace them with unlimited beliefs and successful habits! You have to be obsessed with this though, otherwise you run the risk of falling back into your previous existence.

As you can probably tell this isn’t the easiest thing to do at first, but it gets easier and easier over time. This is why only a select few are ultra successful! They were willing to commit to change, and when you commit to something, you are giving yourself no choice but to succeed!

I will leave you with a few great people that may help inspire you to make a change in your life:

  • Tony Robbins
  • Ed Mylett

Go Big,
