If you have the ability and courage to walk away from a deal, you will always have the power in every negotiation!
In fact, this could be the only negotiation tactic you learn in your life, and it will at least 5x your results in sales and business. It’s simple really…
But the problem is that most people don’t think they have any power when buying a house, a car, a cell phone, at the auto mechanic, etc..
You might experience the same feeling, where you just think that you have to go along with what the other party is asking for, especially if you are under a time constraint (important hint right there).
Here’s the thing…
If you don’t NEED the deal, you don’t have to make any concessions that you don’t like.
The willingness to walk out also opens up every other “power move” in a negotiation like the Selfish Child, Genghis Khan, Ground Zero, and more.

Now I you know that you can’t reach agreement just by using power moves, but having this mindset, and giving this impression to your counterpart, will almost always net you a better deal!
The truth is that in every deal, the other party has something to gain. If the deal doesn’t happen, they don’t win either.
So when they try to force your hand with a “Take it or leave it” gambit, you can easily threaten to leave it and bring them back down to Earth where the conversation can continue.
Bottom Line: Give yourself options, don’t negotiate in a tight time frame (for you), and think of reasons why not getting this particular deal will not hurt.
This mindset will make you absolutely deadly in business and in life!
