Have you ever run out of time in a day to get the things done that you knew you needed to get done?
Or have you also noticed that when you put things off to the last second, you almost always finish that task in half the time you thought you’d actually need?
There’s a good chance you’ve had both of these experiences in your life. We all have at one point or another.
Time is your most valuable possession in this world because it’s the one thing that you can never get back once it’s gone, and you probably feel bad every time you realize you’re wasting it.
Luckily there are some really great way to stop wasting so much of your precious time!
1. Restrict Your Time
If you simply restrict your time by giving yourself only a certain amount of time to get something done, just like when you wait to the last second, you’ll find that you can get a lot more done in a shorter period of time!
Instead of thinking “I need to write this blog today”, start thinking “I need to write this blog and be done in the next 15 minutes.”
Instead of stressing over making 50 calls a day, start thinking “How many calls can I make in the next 20 minutes?”
By restricting your time, you will work faster. And by the way, you will also find that you’re much more creative because YOU HAVE TO BE. That’s a pretty cool side effect!
Give yourself a time limit for each activity!
2. Do It Now
Stop putting things off! Do it now…like right now! The worst thing you can do (and we’re all guilty of this) is put things off and let them weigh you down until you finally commit to getting it done.
If you need to make a phone call, do it now. If you need to respond to an email, do it now. If you need to create a PowerPoint presentation, do it now.
I love to tell you the unexpected benefits of this stuff, and when you make a habit of doing things NOW, you will experience a huge increase in self-confidence! And that will help you in every area of your life.
Don’t wait, DO IT NOW!
3. Get It Done
Not only do most people put things off, but they don’t finish what they start (I know that’s not going to be you after reading this). It’s critical that you finish what you start before moving on to the next thing.
If you need to research information, finish getting that information and ignore anything else that comes up until you’re done.
If you need to record a YouTube video for your business, finish the video and editing before starting a secondary project.
This isn’t a very difficult concept to grasp, but it’s something that not many people do, and will make you look like a rock star compared to your peers!
Finish what you start before moving on to the next thing!
Use these three tips to create more time in your day, and get more done!!
