Here’s Why Successful People Don’t Watch the News…

Why don’t the smartest, most successful people watch the news?

It’s not because they don’t have time.

It’s because they know that the media makes money from sponsors and advertisers, and they are required to gain and keep VIEWERS.

Without consistent viewers, media stations don’t make money. I mean, it’s not like the government is finding them..

The Real Danger

It’s not all their fault (the media), because there’s really only so many interesting things that a 24hr news station can report on everyday.

So how do you make a bunch of unimportant things sounds interesting?

You add drama and uncertainty by triggering people emotionally!

Humans are attractive to other peoples drama, and we are usually looking for something to form or solidify an opinion about.

The media is great at inducing fear about minor and major things too. Fear is the most important human emotion to trigger, followed by curiosity and then anger and desire.

The media also realizes that most people don’t care about heartwarming stories as much as they care about drama.

Just think about what story would feel more enticing to you…

1) The Rock gifts his mom a new car for her birthday

2) People are appalled by how The Rock responded to this reporter’s question…

Which article are you clicking on first?

If you’re like most people (myself included), you picked #2. It’s just how humans are wired, and not something we can change.

Why to do

The best defense is to simply not believe that anything you see in the media is 100% accurate, because every story has a “less than true” twist.

It’s all a time-waster. You aren’t getting the full story, and because of that you are just being manipulated into believing whatever that media station wants you to believe.

If you just stop buying into what you see/read in the media, even if you still consume the content, you will be much better off, and be MUCH less stressed out. This I can promise you!
