Have you ever wondered how it would feel to be one of those people that just oozes confidence, and has a presence that can be felt as soon as they walk into a room?
You know the type…they’re relaxed, stand tall, sure of themselves, and maybe a little arrogant (but you don’t even care because you are so drawn to them).
Yeah, those people.
They all have 3 really interesting things in common that have made them feel like the kings or queens of their domain.
And the good news? I’m going to share those 3 things with you now. Keep reading…
But first…
I want to mention that even though this information is going to sound kinda basic, and you will have certainly heard of these things before…
If you want to become the type of power player that you’ve always imagined you should be, you need do need to do some work and repetition to internalize these 3 things.
Otherwise this will be just another article that you read, thought you were 3 traits away from changing your life, but then decided you can settle for where you’re at now instead.
I’m here to tell you that settling for your current situation has killed so many of your dreams already, and will kill many more if you keep it up.
Don’t settle, become who you should be!
#1: Commitment
Would you say you commit to everything you try 100%, or do you tend to try things to see if they work before you fully commit?
You see, power players don’t try anything, ever. They always fully commit to the task at hand.
Why is that important, you ask?
Because the only way to get great at something is to stick with it long enough to stop sucking and eventually break through walls that seem impossible to overcome.
When you fully commit, nothing is impossible, and the power players know that.
But sometimes life happens, and even though you’re fully committed, you might come across some challenges that are outside of your control, right?
Well that’s where trait #2 comes into play…
#2 Responsibility
Have you ever found yourself blaming either someone else for something bad that happened to you? Or even blaming an outside circumstance?
We all have, so don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s just human nature to assign blame away from ourselves to protect our delicate, fragile egos.
But while this will shield your ego from a kick right up main street (if ya know what I mean), this is preventing you from actually getting things done.
- Will an excuse ever make you more money?
- Will a traffic take the fall for you being late to your important meeting with “the big guy”?
- Will the government ever say sorry for inflation?
- Will the auto shop give you free service if you were forced to spend your last $200 on a few Jager bombs for your crew?
Of course not, but sadly this is how most people operate day to day.
Maybe you even notice that you yourself have been making excuses and assigning blame to anything other than yourself.
What you need to do is take complete and total responsibility for absolutely everything in your environment, even if it’s way outside of your individual control.
You might be thinking that this doesn’t really make sense, and why would you take responsibility for stuff outside of your control?
That would be a great question, and reason is because-again-results don’t give a monkey’s uncle about your reasons for why you failed.
You have to take responsibility for the traffic and leave your house earlier.
Or you have to get good at sales so you can make more money.
Or you might need to do someone else’s job to ensure a task gets done.
Heck, you might even have to not buy junk food at all to prevent yourself from binge eating so you can get that sexy six-pack you’ve been after for 10 years!
Realize that YOU are the only one that can help you, and no one else is coming to save you.
It’s all on you to make things happens, no one else.
However, in order to truly take full responsibility in your life, you need the final piece…
#3: Belief in yourself
“Don’t have a big ego, little Johnny.”
How many times have you heard that in your lifetime, either directed at you or someone else?
We’ve all been told that having an ego is bad, and staying humble is good, right?
“That person is so self-centered, I think they’re a narcissist…”
Yeah, having an ego has been demonized in our society today, and that’s probably by design. Let me explain…
The powerful people of the world today (2022) are always trying to gather more and more power and control.
Do you think they have big egos?
You bet. That’s how they got to the positions they’re in!
But in order to keep their position and not be challenged, they may have thought that they need to push a less successful narrative so they will have fewer challengers.
So now we have all of these saying like “Ego is the enemy” and “Leave your ego at the door.”
But what is this really doing that makes this narrative a silent killer?
It’s causing you to downplay your successes and your great qualities in order to fit into the social norm.
AKA This is killing your belief in yourself to get the job done, no matter the circumstances.
So now you need to re-wire your belief system to inflate your ego to the point where you think you can do things that are logically impossible in every way!
Think that sounds like a stretch?
Just imagine that someone once had the idea for Bluetooth years before it was actually invented, but thought it was too crazy to accomplish.
Like sending brain waves from one device to another is actually going to be possible? No way, Jose.
But it happened, and a million other things happened that were once impossible too (like men remembering their anniversary).
These results only happened because someone had the belief in themselves that they could do the impossible.
You have to build your ego back up to the point that you know you can accomplish anything that you actually try at for a long enough period.
- Learn to play the guitar? No doubt about it.
- Build a successful business? Of course.
- Train a dog to bring you a new roll of toilet paper when you forget to keep extras close to the throne? Done.
- Become a chess grandmaster? It’s all possible for me.
You need to believe that you can literally do anything you put your mind to, and you do that by taking a big game that scares you to even say the words out loud.
It’s one thing to tell yourself some stuff in the mirror, but it’s a whole other animal when you start telling everybody else that you can get the impossible job done.
That you WILL be the world champion.
That you WILL be a billionaire.
If somebody else can do it, you can do it. And if you can do it, you can achieve absolutely anything that you can imagine.
And that brings us to the end…
